<Poem>
<End Poem>
<Translation>
Along the Xiaguan Paths wail the cicadas
In the mulberry woods at the eighth moon.
Where'er you turn, in and out of the Pass
You see but withered reeds and grass.

Few warriors garrisoned on the frontiers,
Ever live to return, since of old.
Do not imitate adventurous cavaliers
Bragging their horses had no peers.
